| gothicdreams's Full Review: Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV |
Why Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV My main reason for buying this Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV is that it was on sale at Walgreens for about ten dollars as opposed to the full retail price of nineteen dollars and ninety-nine cents that they formerly sold it at.
What I Like
I like that it does not require batteries to power the light. I like that I can get a little exercise out shaking the flashlight even though it is very easy to do and low impact as well.
What I Do Not Like
So far the only thing I did not like was the fact during the first several uses the charge lasted for a very short period of time (about thirty seconds to forty-five seconds).
How I Have Used It So Far
Predominantly the Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV has been used out by the camp fire to provide light for placing logs, pine cones, and small oak limbs into the fire. I have also used it for walking during nighttime since it has been so hot during this summer since it is too hot to walk for my health during the daytime.
Quality
The Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV is as high quality or even better than any of the other more expensive shake flashlights.
Power Source
The Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV is powered by shaking of Faraday’s electromagnetic induction to be technical. And for best results (as per directions) the Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV should only be shaken horizontally and make sure the switch is in off position.
Light Source
The lighting source is a single LED.
What Does LED Mean
LED stands for light emitting diode.
Quality of the Light
The quality of the light that is given off by the LED is great and the light emitted is crisp bright white in nature.
Power Duration
The first few uses with shaking for a minute it will last thirty seconds to forty-five seconds. After the first few uses shaking for a minute it will last about a minute and thirty seconds. But better yet if you shake for about two and half minutes to three minutes it will last about five minutes. Once shaken for the fifth to sixth time it will retain a charge up to twenty-four hours.
The package claims that a thirty seconds of shaking you will get a charge that will last five minutes, but I am yet to get those results since it has been on store shelf for more than two years. I expect it to work as promised once I have been using it pretty regularly for everyday for a month.
Colors Available
You may purchase them in only in clear.
Would I Buy Again
Yes, because Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV is a stellar product that I got for an excellent deal of $9.99 and it works great.
Where You May Purchase Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV
The only store I know of that sells this item is Walgreens and there is several online stores that sell it such as teptronics.com, storepulls.com, and dollarnights.com websites; however teptronics.com is the only website where you may only purchase a single flashlight and the others you order by the case.
Caution*
Due to the flashlight’s magnetic properties, keep out of direct contact with pacemakers, computers, disks, audio and videotapes or any other magnetic storage media. Do not disassemble the flashlight.
Place of Manufacture
Made in China
Recommend
Yes, I recommend this Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV since it works great now that the capacitor will hold a full charge which will last a little over five minutes when in use.
Final Thoughts
I am very happy to have bought Bell & Howell Shake Flashlight As Seen On TV since it has been a pleasure to use even though I did not own it very long (about four months).
